Lifeline
Lifeline’s 13 11 14 service is staffed by trained volunteer telephone counsellors who are ready to take calls 24-hour a day, any day of the week from anywhere in Australia. These volunteers operate from Lifeline Centres in every State and Territory around Australia. Lifeline answers around 450,000 calls per year from people needing emotional support.
Anyone can call Lifeline. The 13 11 14 service offers a counselling service that respects everyone’s right to be heard, understood and cared for. Lifeline also provide information about other support services that are available in communities around Australia.

Reconnexions
Reconnexion (formerly TRANX) is a not for profit organisation co-founded by Lis Burtnik and Gwenda Cannard in 1986 to provide counselling and support for people dependent on tranquillisers (benzodiazepines) and to raise awareness of the risk of dependency associated with long term prescribing of benzodiazepines. The benzodiazepine program actively promotes understanding and awareness of the complications associated with long term use of benzodiazepines, both among the medical profession, government and in the community.

Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO) – Community Offender Advice & Treatment Service (COATS)
ACSO is a community support organisation which assists some of the most highly disadvantaged members of our community, in particular those with complex presenting issues or offending history.
COATS is a state wide service funded through the Department of Human Services (DHS). Its role is to provide a comprehensive drug and alcohol assessment, and then develop a treatment plan for forensic clients who have come before the criminal justice system and have a treatment component to their Community Order or parole.

Choper - (after hours mobile needle & syringe service)
The Community Health Outreach Program Eastern Region (CHOPER), provides a free, outreach mobile Needle and Syringe Service. The CHOPER team can be called between 7.30pm to 11.00pm every night of the year and will deliver clean injecting equipment and receive return of used equipment. CHOPER also provides safe using and safe sex education, including free condoms. Referrals to other services such as drug treatment and health and welfare agencies are also available. The service covers a large area of the Eastern Region west of Lilydale and Belgrave.
