Forensic Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs

KCHS provides support to individuals who are diverted through the following programs: Victoria Police Drug Diversion, CREDIT (Court Referral and Evaluation for Drug Intervention & Treatment) and the Cautious With Cannabis Program. These programs focus on:
• providing early incentives for offenders to address their drug problems, in many cases before incurring a criminal record;
• increasing the number of illicit drug using offenders diverted into drug education, assessment and treatment; and
• reducing the number of offenders appearing before the courts for use/possession of small quantities of substances.

Counselling is also available to people referred via the ACSO COATS (Australian Community Support Organisation - Community Offenders Advice and Treatment Service). This service is available for people with legal issues who may be directed to receive drug treatment. They are assessed for treatment at ACSO COATS and then may be referred to KCHS for counselling, consultancy and continuing care.

Access & Cost: Referrals made through the Department of Justice and the Adult Parole Board & cost is covered.
Service Availability: Monday to Friday 9.00am-5.00pm and Tuesdays evenings until 7.00pm
