KCHS’s paediatric services aim to assist children and their families to reach their full potential within their family, pre and primary school environments and within their broader community.
Paediatric Speech Pathology
The Paediatric Speech Pathology program provides early intervention, assessment, treatment and support for pre-school aged children with speech and language concerns. The Speech Pathologist works with the child and their family, as well as other professionals, to provide strategies which assist in developing and improving the child’s speech and language skills.
Therapy and support is provided through both individual and group sessions. Groups are set-up to address specific needs of children and focus on developing a range of skills which may include speech, language, listening and social skills.
Paediatric Occupational Therapy:
The paediatric occupational therapy program aims to provide assessment and treatment for children from the age of 3 years to 6 years (pre-school) in Knox, experiencing difficulty in home or pre-school based activities of daily living. Specifically targeted are fine motor skills, gross motor skills and sensory processing/integration through both individual therapy sessions and group work.
