People Linking to Embrace and Develop Gender Equality

Welcome! The Knox PLEDGE (formerly called the Knox Accord) is a Knox based network focused on primary prevention of violence against women. It brings people and groups together around a shared vision: a world in which women and girls live free from men’s violence, where every girl and boy grows up to be equally valued, heard and respected, and with equal access to opportunities. The Knox PLEDGE is overseen by a partnership of EACH Social and Community Health, Knox City Council, Eastern Community Legal Service and the Knox neighbourhood house, community house and learning centre cluster. It also includes a number of community members. Joining the network is as simple as providing your details. Through this you become part of a local, national and even international movement of people committed to preventing violence against women and girls through increasing gender equality.

Ways of being involved in the PLEDGE

The simple way to be part of the Knox PLEDGE is to fill in the form below. Through this you will be added to the several thousand of network members from Knox and further afield committed to preventing violence against women through increasing gender equality. You will receive a regular email (no more than once a month) to tell you about things that are going on and potentially inspire you to get involved.

There are a number of ways you can participate in Knox PLEDGE:

  • Receive the regular updates as a way of keeping informed about and potentially linking into campaigns and programs focused on gender equality
  • Represent your school, workplace, community group, etc. by promoting PLEDGE information or exploring ways of doing gender equity work within these settings
  • Share your ideas, pictures, stories or information relevant to creating gender equality. These may help inspire and inform others in the network

Participate in PLEDGE activities such as during 16 Days of Activism (when activists internationally promote their work in preventing violence against women. It goes from 25 November to 10 December each year).
