Become a Volunteer
Volunteers are a valuable and essential part of the fabric of Knox Community Health Service. Not only do they provide support for workers but they also assist with running activities and programs and in doing so develop a range of skills.
Knox Community Health Service has opportunities for volunteers to participate in:
physical activities - you can get fit while you help out
administrative activities - for those who like to be organised
supportive activities - helping people go places and supporting them while they are attending activities.
You can help out on a
regular basis - a couple of hours a week helping with groups, administration, meeting representation or
casual basis - once a month or so helping with surveys, mailouts, and showbags
There are loads of benefits

MEMBERS RIGHTS
As a member of KCHS, you will have the right:
To nominate for membership of the Board
To vote in Board elections
To contribute to decisions about community health service provision in Knox
To have the opportunity to help shape the future development of KCHS
To receive a newsletter
To receive mail-outs with information on KCHS programs
A MEMBERS LIABILITY
There are many benefits in becoming a Member of KCHS. However, you should be aware that should KCHS ever be wound up, the most you undertake to pay is $5 (Five) dollars.
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS
To maintain your membership and assist us to communicate with you KCHS may request that Members pay an Annual Subscription Fee. This annual fee shall be determined by the Board in their absolute discretion.
ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP
A person is eligible to be a Member of the company if the person, is a natural person, is 18 years of age or more; and one or more of the following apply, the person:
was a Member of the Association immediately before registration of KCHS
lives, works, is a carer for a person eligible for membership or is enrolled as a student at an educational institution in a local government area where KCHS primarily provides services; or
is a Client of KCHS or
is a Director of KCHS
NOTE: A person who is or at a later time becomes an employee of KCHS is not eligible to be a Member of the Company or stand to be a Director and a Membership is not transferrable.
RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS
A Member may at any time, by giving notice in writing to the Secretary of KCHS, resign as a Member of the company. The resignation shall be effective from the date of receipt of the notice by the Secretary or as the date specified in the Notice whichever is the later. That Member's name shall be removed from the Register of Members.
