Intake/Service Coordination

The intake service will be the first point of contact for people wanting to access community health services. Individuals will be asked a range of questions which will assist to determine the appropriate services that are required. All our Intake workers are all qualified practitioners and come from a variety of backgrounds including Welfare, Social Work, Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing.

In addition to services provided by KCHS, the intake staff have a broad knowledge of other support and clinical services that are provided by other specialised organisations and service providers within the region.


Counselling

The Counselling Team provide support and practical solutions for individuals dealing with a range of personal and social issues.
The counselling team is available to work with individuals and coordinated group activities/information sessions focussed on specific issues.


Health Promotion

The Health Promotion team are responsible for identifying opportunities to develop new programs and activities that encourage the community to participate in activities that have a positive impact on their health and wellbeing. Health Promotion is a holistic approach that can impact mind, body and community.

The strategies and activities that are identified are not limited to KCHS, Health Promotion is coordinated with a range of other government and non-government organisations and is delivered with a whole of community outcome as the goal.


Family Services

The Family Services team provides a range of in-home and counselling services to children and their families. A specialised paediatric team can provide speech pathology, dietetic and occupational therapy services to younger children
